WHY ‘SOJOURNER-LIFE’? 

Inspired by Sojourner Truth and the meaning of sojourning in a foreign land,  I believe this world is not our home; we truly are just passing through. However, we are passing through with a purpose given to us by our Heavenly Father.  As we were knitted together in our mother’s womb, Abba Daddy knew the trials and hardships we would face in this natural realm and since nothing is ever wasted with God and He uses it all together for good  (Romans 8:28) He only needs a willing vessel to complete that calling.  We have a choice; the choice is ours.  We can surrender, lay down our life, repent and turn to Him with a desire to follow Him and be used by Him for His purposes or we can live for ourselves.  It is a choice; a free choice.  Once I began recovery & heard the Gospel message I knew immediately I wanted to follow God, to give Him all my pain and rough edges; I wanted Him to refine me and use me.  It wasn’t long after that I met Sojourner Truth; while preparing to teach Black History to 6th graders I met her and she has been with me, in the depths of my soul, ever since.  Although I have never been enslaved in a way like she was; I was imprisoned in numerous ways in my life and I could feel a soul connection to her story, her courage, her resilience, and her love for The Lord Jesus.  I too decided I wanted my life to count for something worthwhile in God’s Kingdom so I too decided to join her heartfelt desire to let God use my life experiences as a bridge to relate to others while sojourning on this side of heaven.
